Simultaneously power two portable hard drives

This hub is perfect for my old laptop as it only has a USB 3.0 port (ThinkPad T420s). I first tried another hub that didn't have a power adapter, but that failed when I tried to connect a second portable hard drive because the laptop wasn't generating enough power from the port. This USB hub includes a 3A power adapter and perfectly powers most devices. Now I can use both hard drives at the same time. It has breathed new life into my laptop. The switches are also a nice touch. Now I don't have to leave the scanner on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I can just turn it on when I need it without fiddling with cables.
