I chose this product to free up some storage space in the corner of a room. It's very light, with plastic tubes for the stands. Most shelves can't hold more than ten or fifteen pounds, so don't expect to store a pile of heavy books or a collection of rocks. It's quite small so it won't be the best for storing many things. I managed to collect some small canvases and some random paint bottles. On the bottom shelf I had a few one gallon items. I am very happy with it. With him, I was about an inch taller, and the shelves got about three inches wider in each direction. But it's very cheap compared to similar shelves that fit in a corner, so it gets a star for that. Very easy to assemble, no tools required.
