Purchased for traffic sign use. Item received very well packaged, with 2 separate boxes in one large package. A box contains 2 sensor units, various accessories and instructions. The second box contained a receiver and power cord. The instructions say to charge 2 sensor units prior to installation so I did this using the power cord for the receiver as recommended. Then, before installing the sensors, I connected them to the receiver, which was quick and easy. Installing the sensors was fairly easy, although it actually takes 2 people to ensure the devices are aligned. One of the sensors has an LCD display that shows how well they are aligned. Setting up with a strong signal was pretty easy, with one person per device. The sensors are about 250 meters from the receiver I have in my kitchen. There doesn't seem to be a problem with sensors sending that far. The detection seems to be very accurate and I have not had a single false positive and a single missed positive up to this point. I used to use motion sensors that were constantly activated by small animals and the wind. I can't talk about solar charging of sensors yet. They get quite a bit of direct sunlight and perform well for several weeks. Time will tell and I will update this review if anything changes. I can always charge them with the power cord, but that would be a real pain. Final Thoughts: The devices appear to be very well made, not cheap at all. Installation and operation is fairly easy, although I used my own hardware as I felt the screws provided were a bit small. Durability remains to be seen. My biggest complaint would be with the instructions - they are clearly written by someone who is not very conversant with technical English as there are numerous grammatical and spelling mistakes. There is also no information on whether there is a way to determine the state of the batteries in the sensors. I guess you just wait until you miss an alarm to realize the batteries are low. Otherwise I am very satisfied so far.
