I used it as a canoe anchor at the BWCA last June. Kept me where I wanted to stay. Worked great with small adjustments. First remove the nylon rope. It's only 6 feet long, replace it with about 30 feet of 550 line. Make the center line of the loop, twist it toward you to make two smaller loops, insert a locking hook, and lock in your depth. It takes a little practice to get it right, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Second: replace the line blockage with a better one. Or don't worry at all. The handle on the bottom helps to turn it over and pour out the stones quickly. And third, make a hole in the middle and add a strong bushing. This allows water to flow out of the bag when you lift it out of the water. In addition, only load small and medium-sized stones into it. And don't overload it. I only put 4-5 big fist sized rocks in it and had no problem keeping my canoe in place. If you can or know someone who can. Attach another loop next to the original with a triangular attachment and thread your line through it to make the anchor bag more durable. In general I was satisfied with my purchase. You can't expect gold unless you pay high prices.
