As other reviews have said the mount wasn't easy but that was an easy fix by going to the hardware store and buying a hex nut that fitted the spindle and sat neatly in the Recess for $1. Worked great at first. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long on horses' hooves and some coverings that aren't that abrasive. I wonder if it really was carbide or not. I know that plain hardened steel forge rasps last a lot longer. I have never tried an expensive medieval brand at 3x the price to see if it lasts 3x longer. Try another inexpensive brand to see if it's better.
