We really liked our Kenmore Elite dishwasher in every area except for the upper basket support mechanism. The OEM mounts were heavy, well-molded plastic, but the front nylon(?) rollers came loose at the attachment point. I've bought an "improved equivalent" twice that looked exactly like the original but didn't work in the same place. I guess I'm overloading the top basket or twisting the rollers moving it in or out. Regardless, this time I went with the metal shelf positioners that Kenmore (now) shows as a matching replacement part. Installation is more difficult than the plastics and I had trouble getting one side into the top properly. job title. Also, I think the new positioners keep the upper basket a bit higher since the upper basket doesn't clear the "cereal bowls" like it used to. How the new ones will hold up is still unknown.
