Review on CARXtruck Y10 Universal OBD2 Scanner: Read, Clear Codes & Get Real-time Vehicle Data Flow by Pat Nard

Easy enough to use, read codes, save money

Most cars today are designed in such a way that the days of fixing your car with a screwdriver and pliers are long gone. To find out what's wrong with your car, you need some kind of diagnostic code reader. While the code reader doesn't actually tell you what exactly is wrong, it at least points you in the right direction. CARXtruck OBD2 Scanner, Car Code Reader, Car Diagnostics, Check Engine Light for All OBDII Vehicles, Diagnostic Scan Tool, Read & Clean Codes [Where do they come up with super long names?] There are some good things that come with this. It's cheap compared to scanners when they first came out many years ago. It does not require a battery to use or charge as it draws power to run codes directly from your vehicle. You can leave it plugged in to run diagnostic tests while you check for more problematic codes. If you have multiple codes in your discovery, you can mark a module area at a time to get that specific code. Well, as handy as this code reader is, it's not omnipotent and doesn't know everything. Although there are many code definitions stored in the module, you may need to search the internet for some codes. [Google is your friend in these cases] Remember that on some newer computer controlled vehicles all you can do is read the code for a general description of the fault. In my case I kept getting tire pressure errors and couldn't get the code. I checked online and it turns out there is a recall on my particular vehicle so it is being returned to the dealer. For the cheap cost of this code reader [$21.99 at the time of this review], I don't think you can go wrong with a diagnostic tool.
