They work great for what they are, but when you plug your device into this adapter everything tends to fall out of the socket. We found that most hotels in Italy and France might have an outlet. I found that I used this adapter primarily for USB chargers and ended up working better with a European style 220V multi-plug USB charger that includes an EU outlet. Also, keep in mind that many wall outlets are recessed, so not all plugs will work in those outlets. Also, before using such an adapter, check your laptop chargers, USB chargers, or other adapters to make sure they can use both 110V and 220V inputs, as this doesn't convert voltage!
