Not sticky - Would not stick to clean, dry 2x4 wood - just fell off

I got this to try and get a better seal around an attic ladder hatch. I wanted to affix it to the clean and dry 2x4 wood framing for the opening. Sadly, the sticky stuff on this did not stick at all. It immediately fell off. The seller included a roll of some extra dual-sticky tape and so I put that on with some success to the wood and then tried to stick the weather stripping to that. All I can so so far is that it did not immediately fall off. Perhaps they include the extra tape because the know the original backing doesn't work. But if so, they should clearly state that up-front. I will watch and see how this does and report back if needed. Meanwhile, I would urge caution.

Pros
  • ‎12.8 ounces
Cons
  • The strip may not adhere well to certain materials, such as wood or aluminum, further limiting its effectiveness

Easy to install, sticks well. Only before gluing it is necessary to wipe the surface from dust or dirt and be sure to degrease it with alcohol or technical gasoline or another degreaser. It protects against drafts and does not release cold and heat. A room where there is air conditioning is an excellent thing for isolating slots or curved doors and windows where gaps allow air to pass through.
