Review on Performance Tool W38160 Spark Socket by Mario Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works fine but the rubber "plug holder " came out after the second plug and stayed on the plug

Overall the socket works fine and is strong enough to remove and install spark plugs - I would give 5 stars except for the fact that on the second connector the little rubber ring holding the connector in the socket came out of the socket when the tool was removed from the car - and anyone who has ever tried a modern connector Most importantly, the car knows that one of them is down in connector tubes where it's hard to reach, so I had to remove the connector, remove the rubber holder from the connector, and then put the holder back into the socket - then I could not even hold. into the outlet when I pulled it out, so I had to resort to the rest of the other two plugs. I think I solved this problem myself by applying some RTV silicone (caulk, aka Permatex) around the edge of the rubber holder. and reinstall, plug in and let dry - seems to work fine but I've only tested it once on a stand with an old plug so next time we'll see I'll have to use it to replace the plug kit if survived my repair .

  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Requires socket
