I needed a pump to transfer gas from my 5 gallon tank to my car as it was nearing the end of its life. It worked fine for a few minutes, there was no leak, then the hose at the inlet fell out and went into the gas cylinder. I pulled it out but decided to epoxy the red hoses to the inlet/outlet sections of the pump. Also, after a week of cleaning, the pump dried out and was very difficult to pump. I solved this problem by taking the bottom black part off the big pump (which can also come loose although I didn't epoxidize it) and poured some regular canola oil into the main part, plugged it in and ran water through it. He broke up very quickly. Bottom line: 1) epoxy hose ends to pump 2) lubricated main pump seals: I think this should be a great pump from now on.
