When I ordered this splitter there were a few bad reviews but most were good. I went with this mid-range splitter instead of the cheaper and more expensive ones. This splitter works perfectly. No signal loss or interference was observed. I split the "main" cable signal from the wall to a regular TV without a set top box. That's over 80 free channels that cable offers. I use this splitter to split a signal to a "digital adapter" and straight to our DVR. (TWC in my area decided to make some "free" analogue TV channels digital). We use a non-Tivo DVR that has both analog and digital tuners, but it turns out we had to use their "digital adapter" box to get the one channel my wife wanted. It sucked because I had to tune the DVR to channel 3 and the DVR tuner stopped working. My wife had to set all software timers to channel 3 and make sure the digital adapter box was set to the correct channel and turned on for the duration of each programmed recording. Since it was only a digital channel requiring a digital adapter box, I decided to "split" the signal just before the "box" and using the AB switch either the output of the box or the direct signal from select the wall. through this splitter. Thus, any other programs it records can be viewed through the DVR. The box must ONLY be selected for one digital channel and that one show must use channel 3 and be configured through the box. This splitter does it WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. The AB switch I'm using is a C2G 41015 Hi-Isolation Switch. ALL WIRES AFTER THE SEPARATOR ARE ALL 2 FEET OR LESS.
