Review on Poly Planar MA 5500 3 Way Rect Platinum by Kenneth Wood

This is my second pair and replaces the previous pair of MA5500's I installed 10 years ago. The speakers are located downstairs in the main cabin of my sailboat. Keep away from direct sunlight and water, except for boating moisture. These speakers have two 4" speakers and a tweeter. With one driver, both 4" drivers have the foam surrounding the driver cone coming apart. The speaker continued to wheeze with every use, so listening to music was awful Have tried swapping out the drivers but to no avail. The white plastic trim on the original speakers had faded and turned so yellow it looked awful so why rework ugly old speakers so I just bought a new pair. In their price range I wish they had , they would stand behind their speakers a little longer than the advertised 2 year warranty They sound and look good now that they are new but don't expect them to last long.
