I installed a Dorman tensioner guard on my 2000 Chrysler T&C. I was intrigued by the negative review and decided to try the water myself. I poured two cups of water in the drive/idle area and nothing happened. So I poured two more glasses directly onto the idler pulley and the belt still hasn't come loose. But a lot of squeaks and strange noises. Before that, the belt broke twice due to water spray from the road surface. After I reinstalled the plastic fender under the engine from the belt side. I had no problems. This was just an attempt to compare the Dorman shield to the Gates grooved pulley/double sided belt system that I also purchased. Recently I was driving through heavy rain and water was pooling on the road. I was careful to avoid the deepest water. There are no problems with the belt. I already have a second pulley guard for my second minivan and will be installing a Gates system on my third T&C. Yes, I have three Town and Country Gen III minivans!
