So disappointing molding and door paneling

We were installing new floors and in the guest bathroom I needed something to seal the bath tub seam to the floor. I sealed the seam flush to the bottom with silicone caulking, but wanted something that looked more finished than just a small bead of joint. This product looked exactly what I was looking for. I work in the automotive industry and am fairly used to vinyl molding and adhesive adhesion issues. I prepped the area with a solvent to remove wax and grease, then added an adhesion promoter to the tub and floor where the molding would meet. I gently pressed the molding into place, the molding didn't stretch, it just layed down well and looked amazing, it seemed to stick really well and I was happy with the finished product, it looked great! Now that this is a guest bathroom I rarely go in, but a week later I move fast and I walk in and notice that both ends of the molding are loose and set back from the tub and floor by about 6 inches, me am shocked as the installation went so well, on closer inspection the adhesive on the skirting board was still stuck to the tub and floor and was peeling off the skirting board. It was very disappointing that I tried to put it back on but saw it just wasn't I went to work so the molding was removed and I scraped it off the floor and tub with some razor blade glue. I wish it would work, it looked great but it was a waste of time and money for my needs.
