You must clean and degrease the item before immersing it in water, and after a day or overnight, take out the item and wash and clean it thoroughly. Areas of heavy rust may require another try. Machining a significant part requires a lot of Evapo-Rust, but at least it's reasonably priced compared to other similar products. You can repeat this at least a few times before it slows down. There is a gel version but I haven't tried it. It has no smell and appears harmless as advertised. Some people dispose of waste liquids filled with iron particles in their gardens. This may or may not be a good idea. Good stuff and recommended. Deserved five stars.
