These shoes are easy to slip on and come with an extra pair of sole inserts. Both inserts feel different. The softer, thicker insole, which has been adapted to the shoe, offers more arch support. It has a thick celadon midsole for good heel cushioning. The additional insert is a thin foam construction with less support. The good thing is that they are removable because when they wear out they can be replaced with something of your choice. My husband tested the shoes with and without socks. He will wear these shoes without wash socks as the canvas material can get wet. The drying time should be fast. I don't think these shoes are 5 stars for the quality and the way they look and feel but the company sells them at a reasonable price.
