Review on ๐Ÿฆถ Easy-to-Use Black Switch Inline Control Footswitch for Convenient and Hands-free Device Management by William Dean

This is how the wire is held.

later as they don't include instructions I'll show how I used these switches. The wire is held in place by a spring clip. This is very similar to how traditional switches and sockets work. You just stick the wire in the hole and it slides past the hatch and if you try to pull it out you can't because it's held in place by the tension of the spring. It was important to me to twist the stranded bare copper lamp cord very tightly so it was stiff enough to fit through the spring hatch door. I think if you had a soldering iron you could tin the stripped wire and it would penetrate even better. The wire has worked well for me for both uncut and cut wire and seemed reliable, but I put a few spoons in anyway. Hot glue on the wire just like that. I hope the photos illustrate how the wire should be held in place. For the price I think it's almost perfect. The only thing that would be nice to see is a little paper wiring guide.
