Easy to install/replace with little preparation

This was a direct replacement for a footswitch that had stopped working due to the button/spring mechanism failing over time. Installation instructions have already been posted by another reviewer (THANKS!), but the best prep work you can do is tin the wires that you need to pre-insert into this pushbutton switch. This allows you to gently insert the wires into the switch and hook them in correctly the first time. Otherwise a reliable product that replaced the same type of footswitch and…

Does exactly what I need.

The switch itself is made of plastic but looks solid enough. Since the two came together, I have a backup. It works great for what I needed, which was turning the lights on and off in the watch without having to bend down. Update 12/14/2019: One switch broke after a year, so I installed a second one. later as they don't include instructions I'll show how I used these switches. The wire is held in place by a spring clip. This is very similar to how traditional switches and sockets work. You just stick the wire in the hole and it slides past the hatch and if you try to pull it out you can't because it's held in place by the tension of the spring. It was important to me to twist the stranded bare copper lamp cord very tightly so it was stiff enough to fit through the spring hatch door. I think
