Dangerous. Slippery oil or mold release causes floors to become dangerously slippery. Returning.

As another reviewer wrote, I was trying to match 20-inch x 40-inch Costco mats that were purchased in Aug of 2016 that are no longer available or are hard to find. Same or similar to this one https://www.amazon.com/Novaform-Anti-fatigue-Comfort-Tawny-Port/dp/B00S45ACBA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8#customerReviews.This seemed very close but of course you cannot tell until you get one. While this one was close enough physically (size was same, color almost the same, design almost the same), it definitely does not live up to the qualities of the target mat. This mat is 2 1/2 times the price I paid four years ago (20 dollars). It is a bit softer than the that mat but close enough. It is much more slippery on our wood flooring. And worst of all, it has some oil or maybe mold release on it that transfers to your shoes/socks/feet which then gets all over the flooring which then is super slippery. I'm talking ice skating rink slippery. Very dangerous. Kept the box, I'm returning this. Not recommended. In the picture, the top one is from Costco, bottom one is the Dailylife mat. Design is the same except for the extra bit in the corners of the Dailylife mat. Would keep this if it weren't for the slippery oil on it.Does ship in a flat box so it was not folded which is nice.

Pros
  • The thick material of the mat is very effective at reducing noise and echo, making it ideal for use in busy environments
Cons
  • The waterproof surface may become slippery when wet, creating a safety hazard
