Sophisticated product; Good thing is that interchangeable mounting hardware is included. There were no instructions for the engine, but the Dorman website has general instructions and Youtube has plenty of instructions. The symptom was that the window wouldn't go up and down intermittently and then magically work again for a while. Be sure to search Youtube first to see if you have power, a bad switch, or a bad motor. There are many recommendations for replacing the motor/controller assembly, but since there was no binding and rubbing prior to complete failure, I took a chance and just ordered the motor. To save time, I cut the plastic head of the fasteners with a chisel and pushed the rivets through the door panel mounts. The plastic receptors seemed fine, so I left them alone and just installed new rivets. The blue masking tape did a great job of holding the window in place during the replacement and also kept the peeling moisture barrier in place. Make sure the cable spool remains in the controller housing when the motor is disconnected from it. As a safety net, I only unscrewed the setscrews halfway and then made sure the spool stayed in place by pulling the motor shaft out of the controller housing before fully unscrewing the setscrews.
