I have a meat thermometer that I like but wanted it with a wired probe. So far I think this thermometer is fantastic. I haven't worked with it much yet, but I've used it for multiple purposes so far and it's worked very well. I was able to use a wired probe to check the temperature in a portable fridge/freezer and while it took a while to get to the mid 30F, it was accurate. I could also use it to make Thanksgiving dinners. Works faster when probing meat. I also intend to use it for melting and tempering chocolate. Now that I know the thermometer is accurate it should work fine. I love how it turns on as soon as you either plug in the long probe cable or open the built in probe. It also has a temperature alarm that you can set, and there's a magnet in the handle so you can attach it to your fridge. You can also hang it anywhere because of the hole in the handle. It also comes with a pouch and useful cooking information. It is also nice that the meat temperature scale is printed on the device itself. So far I am delighted with this thermometer. Let's hope the build quality is good and lasts a long time.
