Review on Aisin FBT 002 Fan Pulley Bracket by Kevin Mariappan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Knock loose

2004 Toyota Sequoia 4.7L 4WD (non-vvti) OEM part. The engine knocked. Removed the V-ribbed belt, started the engine for a few seconds; knock is gone. Shut the engine off and found my fan mount/bearing was burned. Replaced it and also installed an Aisin timing belt/water pump kit (FYI, the o-ring/coolant bypass pipe gasket in the kit didn't fit; order it from the dealer along with the Toyota FIPG and T-Stat Poetry) . It is also a good time to order and make the front crankshaft and camshaft seals (on 2005 and newer vvti engines the camshaft seals will need to be removed from the camshaft; this is obviously more complicated and requires more parts/gaskets and gaskets). If you need to replace your belt, it's a good idea to just do whatever it takes and get a good night's sleep. True Story: A few days after the repair, I stopped to help someone on the side of the road and their timing belt broke; blew up her engine; Since this is an interference engine, the valves are probably bent. Not something you want to wait for.
