Followed 4 setup instructions with an existing wireless router and reconnected the wired connection with OPTIMUM ONLINE after the first boot. Internet service is available after you register a new modem. It is not necessary to call the service center. When using the browser, a connection error message appears, indicating the need to register a new modem and asking for the account number, name and phone number specified for the account. On the next page, the service will display the MAC address of the existing replacement and the MAC address of the new one, as confirmation is required. If the numbers are correct, once approved, the service will begin configuring the new modem. Takes about 2 mins. I got internet access and just restarted the wifi router. In 20 minutes. everything went back to normal. The speed increased where it should have been 60. Minus the Optimum modem which is returned so there are no future rental charges.
