When I bought his product I was hoping for a product that is low maintenance and also helps keep the fish pellets in an isolated location for easy cleaning. The problem with this product is that food gets stuck in the tube. It's easy to clean as you just need to take a cup of water and pour it into the tube, but in most cases it doesn't clean it completely. I would say if you have this product you should probably take it once a week - at least for rinsing off which doesn't require much maintenance at all. If you don't clean it, it leaves behind old food that smells and attracts mosquitoes. This has happened to me and I have never had a problem with bugs in my tank and have had tanks for about 15 years. . It has caused and solved more problems and is more confusing than the solution of not having this product. Again, with proper maintenance I could see how good it would be, but in my opinion this is higher maintenance than no maintenance.
