i installed two of them on my trailer. I added the first to one of the sliders in the living room that didn't already have one as I needed to run some ethernet cables for the workstation which I added on this page. Then, a year later, the original Flexguard failed on the OTHER side. The trailer is over 7 years old so has lasted quite a while. So I bought a second one to replace the original flexguard. I used additional zip ties to secure the cables along the strap and drilled holes in the strap where needed. Especially on the plug-in, where the cables were already there and I didn't want to awkwardly pull them out and then thread them back through the holes in the five cable plates. I used these plates but I had to cut the sheet in each hole to get the wires in the hole. New cable ties on each post hold the cables in the holes. A strange issue with both Flexguards I've purchased: the slots in the cable support plates are not long enough to fit the width of the strap that needs to slide into the slot. I simply used a suitable drill bit, cutting along the sides like a router, to neatly lengthen each slot. I would also like a narrow file, but the plastic is quite soft and the drill quickly ate it. Don't forget to put all five plates on the band before finally assembling the band! I ended up making a bracket for the non-hinged end (outer end) using a 6" metal elbow and a 1.5" galvanized steel elbow, both of which can be found at hardware stores.
