Frequently charges Trojan T105 6V deep cycle batteries at wrong voltage

I returned the unit because it didn't work as advertised (at least with 6V Trojan T-105 deep cycle batteries). It is not possible to manually set the device to charge a 6V or 12V battery. The automatic determination of the correct charging voltage does not work with deep-cycle batteries such as the Trojan T105. Sometimes it uses the right voltage and sometimes it doesn't. When I first set it up to charge a 6v Trojan T105 it seemed like it would start charging but after many hours of trying to charge the battery I decided the battery was dead because the Voltage never exceeded 7 V is 6V was corrupt? Apparently not, but maybe under stress. However, I couldn't trust his battery voltage decisions. I've tried charging the 6V battery properly a few times, but only a small fraction of the time it chose to charge it like a 6V battery.2. It may be hidden somewhere in the manual, but despite the fact that the declared charging current is 15A as it is implied, it has a 7A limit for 6 volt batteries.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Big and chunky
