Useful Missing Meat Thermometer

This digital meat thermometer serves its purpose well: measuring the temperature of meat and food during the cooking process. It's light and comfortable. It takes measurements almost instantly with a collapsible probe or a wired probe that plugs into the device. The hinged probe folds back parallel to the thermometer and snaps into place on the side. It is easy to clean with soap and water. The cable of the wired probe is quite long, so it is suitable for outdoor grilling. It has an on/off button and a button to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius readings. The other button sets the alarm function of the device. The digital LCD display is large and bright and dims automatically. The device is dimmed and can be made brighter by pressing the on/off button again. The temperature alarm works and is LOUD! It is battery operated and comes with an approximately 1/4 3V lithium coin cell battery. There's also a bottle opener on one end of the device (?!). Unfortunately, the thermometer comes with confusing and sometimes inaccurate instructions. It also comes with a small fold out meat temperature guide which, while informative, is presented in a concise and disorganized manner. There was also a small round plastic disc in the box. I have no idea what this is for and the instructions say nothing about it. The instructions also do not indicate which type of battery is suitable for the device. The case is plastic and I'm not sure how well it will withstand a fall. An advertised feature indicates that the thermometer has "two powerful internal magnets." which can be attached to a refrigerator or a steel surface." I've tried this with various metal surfaces and while it stuck, albeit weakly, to a horizontal surface, it didn't stick to a vertical surface and fell off easily. I did good results with a food thermometer. When I tried to set the alarm to my desired temperature the printed instructions didn't help. I finally managed to complete the setup but felt like I could interpret the instructions. Overall this meat thermometer works , but lacks the working function it should have and there is a confusing instruction manual. And I still don't quite understand why it has a bottle opener on one end. I do not recommend this thermometer as there are many others from Revain, which are of better quality and less complicated.
