Ladder aid is a good product. You will need an extension to attach it to the gutter. I use it in my shop so I don't scratch the gutters and keep the stairs from sliding left or right. Build quality: 9/10. This is not a cheap plastic product. The plastic is hard and tough and looks like it will last for years. Practicality/Ease of Use: 9/10. I needed a way to not scratch the gutter and also keep the stairs stable. This product has rubber on the inside for slide grip and also on the outside for stair grip. The grip is pretty good (when it's on a slide with a ladder in front it's really hard to slide, if at all). Just grab an extension and hang it on the slide, put a ladder on it and you're good to go. walk. I had to move the ladder down the slide a few times so I bought 2 and the system works great. I tried using an old aluminum ladder from the 80's, I think the ladder was actually too wide for the small ladder helper so you need a fairly narrow ladder, I believe most ladders made today will do . My current ladder is a 25 foot Werner aluminum ladder.
