Too narrow for a medium gutter.

This is a well made product but not wide enough for a medium sized gutter. So when it is placed on the gutter, there is still a lot of space between the product and the back of the gutter, so the gutter is still prone to damage such as gutter denting, bending, cracking, etc. As a roofing company owner, I was hoping that this device would be my go-to helper when I need to put a ladder in front of the gutter, but that wasn't the case.

Allows me to clean the gutters myself!

Ordered when I don't have help to keep my extension ladder on the higher side of my house. I did a test run with it and it worked very well. You need a long pole to lift it up and put it on the slide. Once you get there, put your ladder on it and you're done. I climbed up the lower floor and tried to swing the ladder back and forth. Thanks to the non-slip rubber, it held perfectly in place. Definitely allows me to do more self cleaning of the gutters. Highly recommended!

Essential for Safety

This helps avoid dings in the gutter which is good but to me the best feature it offers the user is SAFETY and peace of mind. Extension ladders tend to slide sideways when leaning against a steel slide. It's a BAD feeling standing high on an extension ladder that's sliding sideways. Each year in the United States there are more than 164,000 accidents in emergency rooms and 300 deaths from falls from stairs. Most stair deaths come from a fall of 10 FEET OR LESS! . Learn to use stairs safely…

Life saver when roofing

This worked great on a two story home. When you start going up and the ladder curves, you don't want it to move sideways and that solves that problem nicely. The rubber grip on either side works great, it fit in the shallow gutter and still worked great despite leaning out a bit. the weight of the ladder against the trough has less of a tendency to flex the trough. Maybe something that rests lightly against the back of the gutter. Overall: very happy with the purchase.

  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

Main problem (but theoretically good)

First, it's theoretically a "nice to have" item, not a "must have" because as long as you carefully place the ladder opposite the trough and ladder post are clean, the gutter will not be damaged. The main issue with this item is that it is shaped like an inverted "U" with one side of the "U" on the outside of the gutter and the other side of the "U" on the inside of the gutter when the support brackets for your gutters are less than 18 inches on center, the device will not fit in the gutter…

Scratch-resistant gutter stabilizer

Ladder aid is a good product. You will need an extension to attach it to the gutter. I use it in my shop so I don't scratch the gutters and keep the stairs from sliding left or right. Build quality: 9/10. This is not a cheap plastic product. The plastic is hard and tough and looks like it will last for years. Practicality/Ease of Use: 9/10. I needed a way to not scratch the gutter and also keep the stairs stable. This product has rubber on the inside for slide grip and also on the outside for…
