So far so good with the basic collars

Received this collar today and decided to give it a try. I have a 1 year old Goldendoodle who weighs about 47 pounds but pulls like a horse. I have tried harnesses with a front clip and a soft leash. The harness is fine but he pulls very hard and he ends up getting sores under his front legs and my shoulders are shaking badly. The soft leader is a really great tool, but it resists and scratches your face trying to remove it, not to mention foaming profusely at the mouth with use. So I thought it might be ok. Yes, it works well, it's easy to set up, it works well. Only thing is, this thing is HUGE. I measured his neck at 14 inches which is a wide range. I'm glad I read the reviews and ordered a medium size. I was worried because I thought I had ordered the wrong one, no. I made it as small as possible and he could really use a little less. It still works as it should. Be sure to order at least one size smaller than your measurement.

Pros
  • SECURE AND RELIABLE: Martingale collars have a secure fit to prevent dogs from running away or pulling away from the collar
Cons
  • Large and bulky
