I have a Dell XPS with Windows 7 Ultimate. Serial ports are still used on some older devices (and some new ones). A device I bought that requires a serial connection to communicate with my computer. I had an open PCI slot so it made sense to use that. Searched for Revain almost as well as Google, found Startech PCI2S550_PL, read the test report, got started and ordered. I read the instructions, put it in a free slot, but couldn't load the driver. There is nothing unusual about Win 7. I went to the StarTech website and noticed that they offer 24 hours. technical support. I called the number provided, tech support was connected in less than a minute. Surprise #1. In 15 minutes the tech support solved the problem with the drivers. Surprise #2. The tech asked if I had a serial cable to test the setup, I did, we connected two ports and it worked. Surprise #3. What an amazing outfit, item arrived on time, I had great tech support. and the product works. Thank you StarTech, you deserve 5 stars. Highly recommended.
