I researched these types of screen night vision goggles so I knew what I was getting. It was a lot of fun and the results were better than expected. The image is very clear, without lag and clearly visible at a distance of at least 100 meters when using the built-in illuminator. I bought this for my son who loves observing animals in their natural environment. It was an amazing educational tool for him - not only did he learn about wildlife at night, but he also learned about light, infrared wavelengths and the world our eyes can't see. Reading reviews of this type of device, it was a bit shocking to see how many people hadn't done their homework before purchasing. This device does exactly what it promises. good overview of the environment on the screen, illuminated by a built-in IR source. The menu is simple and fairly easy to master after a few minutes in the dark. Photo and video quality is just as good - it's a direct capture of what you're seeing on screen (which is great for entertainment events). The workmanship is good and seems solid. I looked at more expensive models and found this to be the right choice in terms of price, quality and performance. It's a bit heavy and the screen is VERY bright (the ability to dim the screen would be great). Otherwise we are completely satisfied with this device and look forward to the autumn and winter months when it gets dark early and we can do some serious animal watching at night.
