Review on APDTY 688013 Fuel Gas Tank Filler Neck Tube Pipe for Ford Ranger & Mazda B-Series (1990-1997) - Includes Hose & Clamps (Not for Flareside) by Mike Bogan

Fits as ex works at 1/4 price. Installation Instructions Included,

Ideal for 97 Ranger XLT. There are 6 screws in the bed that hold the bed in place. Completely remove the four front screws. Two screws on the rear door, unscrew them but leave them tightened at least half an inch. You can simply lift the bed, tilt it back and prop it up with a 2 x 4. I lifted it myself, all I needed was my wife to slip a 2 x 4 in to support the bed. Be sure to remove the three screws from the filler neck under the fuel cap before tilting the bed. Unscrew the clamp at the top of the gas tank, then remove the old assembly and replace with this one. Tighten the clamp on the bottom link but leave the clamp on the top loose as you will need to rotate the neck on the inlet to align the three bolt holes. After this is screwed in, tighten the clamp. The screws in the frame are Torx T-55 heads. Depending on how rusty they are, you may need to shoot them with a PB blaster and then break them off with a crowbar or rogue first, then take them out with an impact wrench. I applied Permatex Anti-Seize to all of the screws in case I need to loosen them again in the future. It took me about an hour and a half from start to finish because I had to take out the sheet first. Ford will probably charge you $400-$500 to replace that hose. Orielly wanted $160 for that hose.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
