Review on πŸ’Ž DMT D6F Continuous Diamond Dia-Sharp by Matthew Miles

Revainrating 1 out of 5

DMT is only good for sharpening your sense of smell.

I used this stone to level the bevel I made on the Ajax flange wedge with a steel file. The surface I sanded was about half an inch square. When I was done with the extra stone, I collected the sawdust with a magnet. This was equivalent to about an eighth of a teaspoon of steel dust. The stone itself did not survive the experiment. The surface of the stone that was in contact with the wedge is covered with hundreds of deep ridges of diamond particles, and that part of the stone is so destroyed it doesn't remove any material from my thumbnail. When I called DMT to complain, they told me I was probably applying too much pressure and that the maximum pressure that can be applied to these stones is about the same as the face while shaving. This stone is advertised as an ax sharpener, but it doesn't even hold half a square inch of relatively soft steel. That whole cut rock was my nose for DMT products because when it comes down to it, it's a real piece of shit.

Pros
  • Sharpening stones
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
