Perfect size for my medium sized cockatoo (ducorp cockatoo) and seems durable. Should work great for those with smaller birds. The macaw's beak might be too big to easily fit through cracks, but I think they can still use it. Once the treat was put in, it was a little difficult to tighten the screws back up, but on the plus side, it wouldn't be easy for the parrot to unscrew it like many foraging toys. The moment my bird saw me taking it out of the box, he knew it was for him and was very excited even before I filled him with treats. He spent about half an hour slowly eating Nutriberries through the slots, then happily lay down to take a nap. Great behavioral enrichment. You can fill it with something big enough not to fall through the cracks. Treats, vegetables of the day, etc. Even some larger pellets. It should be easy enough to clean the inside, even when using dirty food. Become a favourite.
