I wanted an IOGear KVM switch but when I tried to order it I was told that the item could not be shipped to my address. I live in Illinois. No explanation given. So I bought this one instead. It basically works. I have two computers that share a keyboard, monitor and mouse. The Linux display looks fine. The Windows display has a yellow cast. Everything is visible, but it looks like crap. I didn't switch cables to see what would happen as the Linux computer is the one I use the most and I can put up with the Windows display. Adjusting the colors on the monitor helps a little, but not enough. The IOGear model has a remote control button that allows you to switch computers without getting up from your chair. You can also use the scroll lock button to toggle. It has a switch on the device itself, so if you find yourself having to switch back and forth frequently, you won't be happy. I'd suggest getting an IOGear instead if you happen to live where Revain ships it. to.Postscript: After a while I realized that it could be used to share a printer between two computers as well as a keyboard, mouse and screen. Printer sharing works really well and would be a good reason to buy this device if you don't have yellow cast on one of your displays like I did.
