Review on πŸ—‘οΈ Lansky LS9 BRK Sharpening Stone by Chad Judex

Great Hone on Power & Hand Tools

My experience is identical to other good reviews so I will not restate what has already been said. I would like to add that the first time I used it was to sand down some sand. I was very concerned, especially since I was applying very light pressure to medium-hard steel. But luckily it turned out to be just some loose sand that didn't hold up very well. After the lost sand came loose, the grinder was still completely covered in sand and worked great. It really works much faster than a standard brick. I can easily get a great blade on all my knives with three sharpenings: this, the standard medium stone, and the standard thin stone. I use this rough diamond at a 20 degree angle to quickly create a ground bevel. I alternate each side until I can feel a ridge on one side with my fingernail. I switch to the center stone at a 25 degree angle and do a few passes on either side to create a slight secondary bevel. I end up using a few fine honing passes, still at 25 degrees on each side. A ridge should be left on one side. I remove it with a thin sharpener, applying very light pressure and only moving the stone towards the blade shank. After this process, all my blades shave the hair off my arm.
