Great Hone on Power & Hand Tools

My experience is identical to other good reviews so I will not restate what has already been said. I would like to add that the first time I used it was to sand down some sand. I was very concerned, especially since I was applying very light pressure to medium-hard steel. But luckily it turned out to be just some loose sand that didn't hold up very well. After the lost sand came loose, the grinder was still completely covered in sand and worked great. It really works much faster than a standard

Why didn't I get it the first time?

Many years ago I bought a Lansky sharpening set and settled on whetstones. I'm not sure Diamond was an option at the time. Although it was an amazing product and really the only way to sharpen knives these days, there was always a problem that changing the blade angle on an old knife or a knife I refurbished was very time consuming. . The supplied rough stone works well with softer steels such as most Finnish made puukko etc. I think my knife collection has more to do with harder steels. So if…

I should have bought this thing many years ago.

I cannot recommend this item highly enough. BTW this is for a PURPLE back, not black but as well as it works I wouldn't care if it was pink with yellow polka dots. I have been using the Lansky kit for many years and I am very happy with it. The most time-consuming process is knife sharpening, which requires a HUGE amount of work to "rehabilitate”. While regular stones work very well, it ALWAYS takes them to remove enough material from a large knife for the blade profile to be where it should…
