Review on Agility Weave Adjustable Carrying Stakes by Sandra Egan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for teaching the mechanics of weaving

This is a beautiful, lightweight and portable set of six loom poles spaced 24 inches apart. It comes with a storage bag and is easy to install and remove. .I bought this to teach my young agility dog to pole. I started them staggered, gradually moving the bars in line. She settled in in less than a week. She didn't really get weaving poles with guidewires and X-Pen barriers. She wove wires and X-handles, not poles. It really helped her figure it out. Dogs should move forward independently of you. I would suggest if you choose to use staggered bars working in line to throw a ball or similar desired object to get the dog moving forward out of the weaves. Use this as a reward, not bait. I would think twice about using these braided rods for my old powerful front sled dogs. If the bars weren't secured properly he would have mangled the whole thing because it's very light and would move with him too much. But they are really great to take to the hotel or home or garage for training young dogs or gentle older dogs.
