I have SRAM Level TL brakes on a new Fezzari Signal Peak MTB bike. My other bike comes with the Hope Tech3 X2, which far outperforms it in almost every way. SRAM came with organic pads. I live in Northwest Georgia so we have different weather and track conditions. Organic ones supposedly have the best bite, but the originals don't cut it and make some of my technical rides unsafe. I was looking for an alternative other than spending a few hundred euros to replace the brakes. After lots of research, much of which came from motocross test articles, I settled on a semi-metal compound rubber. Immediately after installation I noticed an improvement. After a few miles of breaking in, they have the same if not better grip and require less effort to lock the wheels. In addition, the performance loss in the wet is only about 15%, which is huge compared to standard pads that hardly worked in the wet. The only thing I don't like about them is that they make noise under braking when wet, but that's common with metal/agglomeration pads so it's not a complaint, I knew it could be the result of the compound. If you have TL level brakes and they don't hit the mark, this is a good solution to upgrade for less than $12. Over time I will replace my brakes with something else, but that is no longer a top priority. I will ride them until the end of the season unless I damage them in an accident.
