I bought it because it was a good way to add an Ethernet -Recommended connection and USB extension to Chromecast with Google TV using a standard Chromecast charger. Unfortunately it isn't. First, the standard Chromecast charger doesn't provide enough power to use this hub. Even with nothing else plugged in, the Chromecast displayed a power warning and wouldn't boot. The spare 65W charger worked, but then we encountered a bigger problem. The main problem is that even with the right charger, it's clearly not gigabit ethernet. I couldn't get the Chromecast to beat even 55Mbps download speeds on a wired connection. A strong Wi-Fi signal on the same Chromecast easily outshines 300Mbps, and the same wired connection easily exceeds 500Mbps when tested on other devices. Whether the problem is related to the Ethernet port or USB bandwidth, you just won't get what you expect to use it with a Chromecast. I will be returning the two I bought and will look for the best option. While I can't blame this hub for Chromecast's power issues, given the misleading gigabit ethernet advertising, I can't rate this higher than 1 star.
