Review on High-performance Amateur Dual-Band Magnet Antenna - Tram 1185 by Brad Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good SWR or 1.1 for 2 meters and 440 and hurricane proof base

DB growth is not very strong, but the price is excellent. If you want to win big, you have to pay for it. Installing a fixed antenna with the best gain will cost you money. When you make your own, you have the wind's vibration and waves on your car's antenna and roof. You'll probably want to spend more money for a dedicated cellular device with some punch. I have a clean roof for a good floor and live with HT for the radio. It comes with a 239 pin connector with 58A/U coaxial cable so the SWR is low and comes with a coaxial copper shield. I was just at an event where the entire SAG security team and transporters used this antenna on their mobile rigs. You may need an adapter for your radio or HT. I have operated a 2m 5W repeater for 220 miles with this antenna at night in California's Central Valley off Highway 99. From the Fraser repeater at 8100 feet to the Tracy Ka border. Late evening to early morning. Early that evening I brought back some popcorn as I drove south on Highway 99. If you like my review, say so and agree. I had to go back and look at the distances and I shortened what the Mapquest map said and said the distance was 220 miles.
