Affordable, efficient muffler

Installed on my 2007 Subaru Forester. 36 square meters is more than enough to leave all the doors, the tailgate, the rear quarter panels and a little more. For the doors, I decided to do the inside of the door's outer skin as well as the inside of the door's inner skin. I bought a small Revain butane blowtorch and used it to heat the material after a light application. This improves adhesion and makes it easier to unroll. You will also need a small roller (get a wooden one) to apply this material. It's easy to cut; Use a utility knife or EMT scissors. Finally, don your handguard. I put on two layers of surgical gloves. The metal on the door panels is sharp, and this material is sticky and gets on your hands and clothing. You won't be able to take it off. And the better you use it, the better it works. I was surprised how much quieter my car became. Previously, the Forester had absolutely no soundproofing. Expect to spend around 2 hours at each door. Street noise and traffic noise are reduced. This material works by changing the resonant frequencies of sound waves. It is not necessary to cover 100% of the doors. A coverage of 25% to 50% is sufficient. As you work to put this on, you can knock or knock on the door to check your progress. The doors close with a strong, deep slam, similar to a Lexus or BMW door. There are fewer wheezes than before, my stereo sounds better, and my sex life has improved. Just kidding about the last part, I don't have a sex life. However, I perceive wind noise more than before.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
