I made my brother a merino wool blanket last Christmas and found out the hard way that while it looks very cute, it collects lint all over the house, from everyone's clothes and my god it's peeling How crazy. If you even touch it the slightest bit, small fluffs will detach from it and float in the air around you, sticking to your body and clothes. In my opinion, this is a much better alternative. The yarn is the same thickness and now I don't have to worry about it falling apart if someone gets too close, or small bits getting caught in it. I can't wait to go to Pinterest and see what yarn project I'm about to make.
