Review on Enhance Cable Connections with Cable Matters Through Stranded Connectors by Darryel Tokarczyk

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They work, but cutting the ends of the wires so they don't short is problematic.

I used a pair of these wires to make Category 6 cables and encountered a design problem. This can be a problem with all those pass-through connectors. After the end is crimped to the wires, it is very difficult to cut off the ends of the wires that have been passed through the connector. When you eventually do this, some of the bare ends will be very close together. When a plug is inserted into an outlet for use, it is possible for the ends of the wires to short together. To work around this problem, I insert the cable all the way into the connector, trim the ends of the wires, and then pull the cable back a bit so the bare ends of the cable are inside the connector. This must be done carefully so that the entire wire is still pinched by the metal core when compressed. It would be nice if they included a wire cutter to cut the wires flush with the connector.
