One-piece shears for cutting thin metals such as metal bolts, metal plates or sheet metal. With thicker metals, however, the blades tend to shift unless you apply force at the perfect angle to the bottom of the cut when cutting. I think it's the blade length. My usual use is just cutting metal objects, it doesn't need to be clean, it doesn't need to be precise, just cut anything that's out of the way. I found it much easier with the shorter side cutters. as this. So I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for a general purpose metal cutter. But if you're working with lots of thin sheet metal, which in your practice requires lots of long cuts (straight or bent) with decent precision, then they seem to be the most efficient I've seen outside of power tools.
