Review on Astronomical Telescope - Ultra Portable - Quick 5 Minute Setup - Enhanced Stability Tripod - Smartphone Photography Holder by Kevin Henry

Fantastic magnification; Easy to use; The price is right

I had a telescope as a child over 40 years ago. This telescope was less than ½ times as powerful as this one, longer (and therefore bulkier) and cost $99 - almost the same as this one and $1980 which is about $319 today (2021). This is a versatile fantastic telescope. It has multiple zoom options, is compact, portable and easy to use. The key is to attach and align the external viewfinder once you have it set up. This is a small device that attaches to the side of the telescope and has a low magnification. The idea is that you find what you want to see through the finderscope (this is easy as the scope has a wide range due to the low magnification), make sure it's in the center of the finderscope, and then it is it's the eyepiece of your main telescope when you look through it. By rotating the eyepiece through its 3 options, you can change the magnification of the telescope. There's also an external Barlow lens you can attach to increase the magnification up to 133x. This telescope is excellent for observing the moon. Not a single planet has been properly aligned since we had a telescope, but I can't wait to try. We also use it to look at the ships in the bay that we live near. Even at the lowest magnification, it appears as if you are standing on the deck of a ship from a distance of 2 km. The best part is that it's easy to set up. It took us less than 10 minutes to read the instructions, set up the telescope and start browsing. It also has a cell phone mounting kit that allows you to use your cell phone to take pictures through the telescope. We haven't tried it yet, so I can't comment on how easy/difficult it is to use.

Pros
  • Binoculars and telescopic sights
Cons
  • Slightly torn
