Refill works properly. Be sure to fill the small chamber with water and then tighten the cover/disk by hand. Works great with my homemade CO2 system. I needed this for aquascaping in an aquarium that can accommodate a rainbow shark with gourami. I need a lot of vegetation so that they can also hide in open water. Of course, it is difficult to grow a complex ecosystem without livestock, so I artificially add carbon dioxide and additional ammonia to my plants in the aquarium for nitrites and nitrates. It is supplied lightly for mh purposes. It was easy to connect. I have no problem getting it in and out of the tank and back into the clip. This is clear and the bubble counter shows the same as the other counter on the same line. It produces nice little bubbles and my CO2 test confirms this. I highly recommend this product.
