Remove the fear from Fair Isle!

This book is exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it and then a few more. Yes, experienced knitters don't need introductory material that explains the basics of knitting, but it's not for experienced knitters. This is for people like me with some knitting knowledge and limited experience who want to learn the basics of knitting. Along the way, Watterson also provides information on knitting strips without last, how to ribbing perfectly into horizontal and vertical strips, blocking, cutting, adding beads and buttons, and making and attaching tassels and pom poms. The diagrams and written instructions are clear and consistent, the diagrams are easy to read and the designs are illustrated with examples. The whole effect is to make knitting in more than one color look like even I can do it. The patterns are just the icing on the cake, but a very nice icing: eye-catching and useful elements based on the skills Watterson teaches. The table of contents, bless the hearts of all who contributed to the writing of this book, has been carefully compiled.
